Today it happened. Again.
I had that strange reaction I’ve been having recently towards
outstanding endomorphs:
What were you doing?
a thought that enters my consciousness when I see them.
I’m not sure why, or if it’s just me, but I figure a person
would notice if their body mass was increasing rapidly. That’s my reasoning
when I see these very fat individuals (and I have indeed been noticing them
recently).
A few days ago I felt like stopping one of the early morning
joggers and asking her, “Madam, wetin you dey do since as your body dey
increase? Why be say na now you begin dey jog?
Of course that would be rude and plain stupid, knowing the
various factors that could have led to their large body size. I won’t.
When things within our control go wrong, or don’t turn out
as we would like them to, we freak out or shut down. It is especially
frustrating when we discover that it isn’t our fault, though this can
paradoxically be a comforting thought sometimes.
When God made the first man, He noticed something. Although all
that He had made was declared to be good, He realized that it [was] not good for man to be alone.
Now this would ordinarily at least be an embarrassment to
Him, but God continued unflustered and solved the problem.
One could very easily ask the whys and hows of such an ‘un-good’
occurrence in God’s perfect earth garden, but the point is this: The goodness of God doesn’t make Him
oblivious of all the evil going on.
God is so good that He takes notice of every single wrong
that is done and every single heart that is hurt; and He isn’t just standing by
overwhelmed, God is working unflustered, God is fixing it!
I don’t know what you have watched go wrong; I won’t ask
what you were doing all the while. There isn’t a lot you could have done
anyway, but I will tell you something instead.
God is good, and He’s fixing it.
